Inviting Friends
How to invite a friend
Invite a friend by sending to sniff (76433) 'invite' with your friend's name and mobile number — for example 'invite joe 3035551212'. You can not use the same name for multiple friends, and friend's names can not contain spaces.
Accepting invitations
Accept an invitation by replying 'yes' plus the code in the invitation message — for example 'yes 1234'.
Denying invitations
Decline an invitation by replying 'deny' plus the code in the invitation — for example 'deny 1234'.
Reminding a friend about an invitation
To resend a sniff invitation to a friend, send 'remind' plus their phone number to 76433.
Visibility
To become visible in sniff
You can change your status to allow your friends to sniff you by sending 'visible' to 76433. To prevent them from sniffing you, send 'invisible' to 76433.
To become invisible in sniff
You can prevent all of your friends from sniffing you by going invisible — send 'invisible' to 76433. While you are invisible, your friend will not be able to sniff you, and you will not be able to sniff them. Become visible again by sending 'visible' to 76433.
Find out your visibility
To find out if you are visible or invisible in sniff, send 'status' to 76433. You can also see and change your status on the settings tab of the website (mobile or Facebook).
How to stop one friend from sniffing you
You can temporarily prevent a friend from sniffing you by sending 'block' plus their name to 76433 — for example 'block joe'. Send 'unblock' plus their name to allow them to sniff you again.
How to unblock a friend
To allow a friend to sniff you again after blocking them, send 'unblock' plus their name to 76433 — for example 'unblock joe'.
How to stop being friends with someone in sniff
You can remove a friend by sending 'remove' plus their name to 76433 — for example 'remove joe'. You can no longer locate each other after they are removed, and if you want to be able to sniff each other again you will need to re-invite them. You can temporarily stop them from sniffing you by blocking them — send 'block' plus their name to 76433.
Registration
How to sign up for sniff
You can start registering by sending 'yes' to 76433. We will send you back the address of a website to go to on your mobile phone where you finish setting up your account.
How to cancel your sniff account
You can cancel by sending 'stop' to 76433. This completely ends your membership in sniff. When you cancel, all of your information is deleted, including your friends list.
Get Info
Get a list of all your friends
To get a list of your sniff friends send 'list' to 76433. It may take multiple texts to send the full list to you.
Get a new password
You can receive a new password by sending 'password' to 76433. This will delete your old sniff password, create a new one, and text the new one to you.
Get a text with the price per sniff
sniffing a friend or your own mobile is $.25 each time you get a location back. Send 'price' to 76433 to check the cost anytime.
Who's sniffing me?
Send 'last5' to 76433 to see the name, time and date of the last 5 times you were sniffed. This list will include any times you located your own mobile.
Text Notifications
To turn notifications on or off
To turn on notifications for invites, messages and when you are sniffed, send 'msgs on' to 76433. You can turn them off by sending 'msgs off'. You can set each one — invites and when you are sniffed — individually on the website (mobile or Facebook).
