social network integrated friend finder

The answer to the world's most texted question 'where r u?'

Practice safe sniff

WARNING: sniff allows people to know where you are. For your safety be sure you are aware who is locating you.

Know Your Friends

Only accept a trusted friend’s invite to be sniff friends — and make sure you know their phone number.

sniff is a closed network where location information is only shared with special people — people who you invited as your friend, or who you accepted a sniff invitation from. It is up to you to decide who to show your sniff location to.

A few tips on who should be your sniff friend. First and foremost, is it OK for them to know where you are whenever you are visible in sniff? For instance:

  • Do you really trust them?
  • Would you leave them alone in your home?
  • Do you know where they live?
  • Are you sure you want them to know where you are?

Always confirm the phone number your friend’s sniff invite is from. Check that the invite is coming from your friend's real phone number — look at more than the name, double check it in your phonebook.

Who can find me?

Only people whom you have invited, or accepted an invitation from, will be able to locate you. Within the application, you can view and manage who can locate you from the Friends page.

Going invisible

Use any of these methods to become un-sniff-able:

  • SMS: text ‘invisible’ or ‘nvis’ to 76433.
  • WAP/mobile web: go to the Settings page, verify that you are currently visible and click on the “Become invisible” button.

Blocking individual friends

Use any of these methods to prevent a selected friend from sniffing you:

  • SMS: text ‘block (friend’s name)’ to 76433, for instance ‘block john’.
  • WAP/mobile web: go to the Manage friends page, in the Remove Friends section select the friend you want to block from the list and click Block/unblock button.

Getting notified when you’re sniffed

You can be notified via text message anytime someone sniffs you, so you always aware of who is viewing your location. You can turn on messages in the settings page on the mobile website or on Facebook, or by texting ‘msgs on’ to sniff at 76433.

Report inappropriate behavior and unwanted contact

The great majority of our users will use the sniff services appropriately for fun and social purposes. However, please note that by its very nature, your real-time location information is subject to abuse, misuse, and over-monitoring by your friends. You can manage your own mobile and profile privacy preferences on the sniff Services on an ongoing basis to minimize the chance of harmful use. Help us keep sniff fun — report any inappropriate behavior (including excessive unwanted invites or contact) to support@useful-networks.com.

If you lose your phone

Ask one of your sniff friends to locate you — and there’s your phone!

If you suspect it’s stolen, go online and cancel your account right away so the bad person can’t abuse your friends or your phone bill. You can also contact us at support@useful-networks.com or call 1-866-369-9179 — for instance, if you have lost your phone and your password, get in touch so we can cancel it for you (since you can’t get a new password on your lost phone). And we’re sorry for your loss!
