What Is sniff?

sniff easily and automatically answers the question 'where r u?'. sniff is a service which lets you find your friends' mobile phones, using your mobile phone or on the web. The easiest way to use sniff is by text message. You can't be located without giving your permission. Period.

How Do I sniff?

Text now to 76433 to get a link to the registration page
Go to the URL on your phone's browser and sign up
Invite your friends to join sniff and give you permission to locate them

1. Sign up

Text 'now' to 76433 to register, then finish sign up on the mobile website we send you.

2. Get permission

Text 'invite' + friend name + friend number (i.e. 'invite Chris 3035551212') to 76433 and wait for your friend to accept.

3. sniff

Text 'sniff' + friend name (i.e. 'sniff Chris') to 76433 and find out where they are.
Successful sniffs incur a $.25 charge on your mobile account — all other texts to 76433 are standard rates.

sniff is a closed network where location information is only shared with trusted people — people who you invited as your friend, or who you accepted a sniff invitation from. It is up to you to decide who to show your sniff location to.

How Does It Work?

First, sign up for sniff; then invite your close friends. Once your friends are signed up and have accepted your invitation (or you their invitation), you'll be sniff friends.

You can locate your sniff friends by texting sniff or using the Facebook application. If you text, you'll get a message back with the location info and a link to the map you can view on your mobile's web browser. On the web, you'll get a big map showing your sniff friend's location.
